ERASMUS

Erasmus what is all about?

Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The programme involves the 27 EU Member States and 6 non-EU associated countries. The general objective of the programme is to support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional and personal development of people in education, training, youth and sport, in Europe and beyond.

What is the goal of Erasmus?

The main goals of the Erasmus + programme are to improve the quality of education in Europe, to develop mobility and cultural ties between students from European and the EU neighbouring countries through cultural enrichment.

Students from the sending school attend school abroad for a specific period of time, together with their peers from other countries. Throughout this period, students remain under the supervision of teachers or other authorized persons from the sending school. During that time they can also make trips, which can be short or long-term.

What are the benefits of Erasmus program for our students?

The number of benefits that Erasmus brings is long. Here are some, which our students and teachers can gain from this experience:

  • meet people from different backgrounds and nationalities
  • practice their language skills
  • do something they have never done before
  • travel!
  • learn from their new adventure!
  •  get a taste of what studying abroad means
  •  get inspired and motivated
  • make friends from all over the world

Why Erasmus?

The primarily aim of introducing Erasmus+ in our school is to develop broadly understood multiculturalism and open-mindedness, which perfectly aligns with our IB mission.

Last year, thanks to that, we managed to organize teacher exchanges (job-shadowing) and we hosted students from Germany, who had opportunity to meet our school and took part in organized workshops by our teachers. Their meeting was finalized with the amazing concert, which earned a lot of acclaim of our school community. This year we are planning even more. We’ve just getting started.  The main goal for this school year is a youth exchange between students of three countries as part of the project we have submitted, for which results we are waiting. We hope that this year will bring us many new adventures and experiences.
