How to pass the International Baccalaureate?

Obtaining an IB diploma requires dedication and systematic, committed work, but it is an excellent opportunity for the High School student to prepare for university studies, deepen his knowledge and personal development.

How to get an IB DP diploma?

Enrol in Da Vinci’s High School’s bilingual International High School

Choose 6 subjects offered by Da Vinci’s High School in the 2024/2025 school year from the following groups that you will study for two years:

Group 1

Native Language: Polish Literature
English: Language and literature

Group 2

Foreign Language: English, Spanish

Group 3

Social Sciences: History, Philosophy, Geography, Psychology, Business Management

Group 4

Natural Sciences and Exact Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science

Group 5

Mathematics: Approach and Analysis, Application and Interpretation

Group 6

Visual Arts: Art or another additional subject from the selected group

Select the level of study: HL (higher level) and SL (standard level) and decide which 3 subjects you will study at HL (240 hours) and which 3 at SL (150 hours).

Pass selected subjects in so-called Internal Assessments (works/projects/presentations are assessed internally by subject teachers) and External Assessments (works/projects/presentations are assessed externally by IB examiners).

In addition to the selected subjects, it is mandatory to pass 3 matriculation components, which belong to the so-called DP Core:
Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

Marks: from 1 – 7 (where 7 is the highest mark)
A maximum of 42 points can be earned from all subjects, a minimum of 24.
3 additional points can be received for EE and TOK.
To obtain the IB Diploma, therefore, one must:
Acquire min. 24 points from 6 selected subjects
(with specific conditions on the number of points from HL and SL subjects);
Credit DP Core: TOK, EE and CAS.
