Why choose IB?
The IB programme is discussed by Michał Rusinek – author and translator of more than a hundred books for children and adults, literary scholar, columnist, university lecturer. He was Wisława Szymborska’s secretary from 1996 to 2012, and has been running her Foundation since 2012:
“
I regret that in my high school days there were no choices. Now – there are. You can choose a class with the IB programme. This programme may be of particular interest to those who do not like coercion and entitlement, because it gives a lot of freedom in terms of choosing subjects. You can go your own way. Yes, the programme is demanding, focused on teamwork on specific projects, teaching critical thinking on a local and global scale – and somewhat university-like, making it easier for its graduates to function in university. Thanks to the fact that Poland is a member of the EU – there is also the possibility of studying abroad. I regret that in my high school days there was no IB programme. I’m happy that my son is a graduate of the IB class and as a result is now studying at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
